Water infrastructure
is essential infrastructure.

Fenix Waterco acquires, develops, and operates water treatment and supply assets across two complementary categories — generating near-term operating revenue while building long-term capital value through development-stage projects.

Operating Assets

Treatment & System Financing

We finance and acquire operating industrial and municipal water treatment systems under long-term contracts with creditworthy counterparties. Assets are secured by the underlying equipment and generate immediate, predictable revenue.

  • Reverse osmosis and clarification systems
  • Produced water treatment
  • Municipal wastewater equipment financing
  • Conveyance and pumping infrastructure
Development Assets

Infrastructure Development

We acquire early-stage water infrastructure projects and advance them through permitting, engineering, and commercial contracting. These assets include large-scale seawater desalination, industrial wastewater reuse, and recirculating aquaculture systems.

  • Seawater desalination for mining and agriculture
  • Industrial wastewater treatment and reuse
  • Recirculating aquaculture systems
  • Beneficial reuse projects

A repeating cycle of
acquisition and value creation.

Our scale strategy follows a disciplined six-stage cycle that combines the economics of a development company with the yield characteristics of an infrastructure fund.

01

Acquire

Identify and acquire early-stage water infrastructure development opportunities at attractive entry valuations, leveraging our deep equipment and design relationships.

02

Develop

Finalize engineering design and secure all required environmental permits and regulatory approvals. Draw on 40+ years of water treatment equipment expertise.

03

Execute

Contract with long-term, creditworthy commercial off-takers under multi-year agreements — industrial operators, mining companies, municipalities, and agricultural users.

04

Recapitalize

Recapitalize the developed, contracted asset once fully permitted and operational, creating liquidity while retaining ongoing profit participation in the asset's cash flows.

05

Retain

Retain ongoing profit participation from operational cash flows post-recapitalization, maintaining long-term alignment with each asset's performance.

06

Redeploy

Redeploy returned principal into new acquisitions and restart the cycle — compounding value across the portfolio with each completed cycle.

A structural funding gap
in a mission-critical sector.

Water infrastructure investment in the United States is chronically underfunded relative to documented need. Federal contributions account for only 3.9% of public spending on water utilities, leaving a substantial gap that private capital and innovative financing structures must fill.

🌍

Population Growth

Urbanization and population growth are increasing demand for reliable water supply and wastewater treatment capacity globally.

Industrial Expansion

Mining, energy, agriculture, and data center growth are driving sustained demand for industrial water treatment and supply solutions.

🌡

Climate Variability

Increasing freshwater scarcity in arid regions is creating structural demand for desalination and water reuse at scale.

🏛

Municipal Demand

Aging municipal infrastructure and limited public budgets are creating significant opportunity for private sector equipment financing partnerships.
